Did you know that Wrawby Pre School is run and managed by a Voluntary Committee? The Committee is made up of staff, parents and carers of children, who currently attend the Pre School. Committee members meet for 2 hours one evening each month, and also do work outside of these meetings, i.e. fundraising, recycling, keep the policies up to date, attend any relevant training, keep up to date financial records and any other tasks that are relevant to running a pre school. You are not alone undertaking these tasks, everyone supports each other and tasks are shared.
We are now looking for new members to join the committee, and are asking parents to consider if you could make this commitment to your preschool.
Without a Committee the preschool would not be able to open, please contact preschool if you are able to help in any way at all on 07960 021517
Thank you.
The School Council has been very busy working on projects to improve the outside environment ready for the summer.
In two weeks time, a 'Trim Trail' is to be installed on the field. This has been designed by the School Council following consultation within their classrooms. Much of the finance for this has come from the Yellow Pages competition prizes, so please look out for the next recycling campaign. They are now working together with Friends of the School to improve our wildlife area. Anybody with green fingers is welcome to come, have a look and suggest ideas.
Miss Wallhead began her maternity leave on 23rd May. We wish her well and look forward to the happy event, but at the same time will miss her while she is away. We have been lucky to appoint Miss Drinkall, an experienced teacher, who will take over the Year 3/ 4 class on June 2nd. She will also take the Year 3/ 4 class for the whole of next year. We very much look forward to welcoming her to our school family
Lifestyle 2008 is a Humberside Police initiative designed to increase the amount of positive contact between Humberside Police and the young people of our area. Encouraged by police prompting, young people become involved in community projects during the long summer holidays. The overall aim is to provide a refreshing and challenging alternative to summer boredom, which will not only occupy their time but also benefit the youngsters, themselves and their communities.
It's the 20th Anniversary and there's a chance for you to team up with your friends during the summer holidays and make a difference to your local community, you could also win a holiday in Florida. Log on to www.humberside.police.uk/lifestyle for more details/entry.
