My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 now and we have no idea where she is.
I can only exercise very early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, He would have put them further up our body.
I like long walks - especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
I don’t jog. It makes the ice jump right out of my glass.

At a recent meeting of the village hall committee we received a cheque for over £800 raised through the village hall lunches prior to Christmas. The committee would like to say a big “thank-you” to all those who contributed to raising this fantastic sum of money. The plan is that some of this will be spent on installing a double sink in the kitchen. The committee decided against having a dishwasher at present because of the expense of this item.
Various jobs have been done in the hall since our last meeting such as replacing the old heaters in the meeting room with ones that were taken out of the main hall when the new heating system was installed. There are also hooks on the back of most of the doors so that they can be fastened back when necessary to make access easier when carrying items into the hall. Curtains have been hung in the meeting room and a blind put up at the kitchen window. A wall-mounted changing station has been fitted in the disabled toilet, which the committee is sure will be a great help to the mums with young children who come to events at the hall.
The bookings are picking up now but we still need the hall to be used more often. So if you are thinking of having a “do” of some sort, then please bear the hall in mind! Our booking fees are still less than at other halls in the area.
The Village Hall AGM will be held on Tuesday 23rd March at 8.00 pm in the hall. It would be nice to see new faces at that meeting and all villagers are invited to attend.

The Village Hall lunches for our community are continuing each Tuesday. The next will be on 3rd March. It is a chance to come out of winter hibernation and enjoy the friendship and company of others! People of all ages attend, including many pre-school children with their parents. The money raised from the first 6 lunches will go to the Pre-school building fund. As usual we will be serving a choice of homemade soup, bread, cheese and plum bread.
We look forward to seeing all our old friends. We are always pleased to see new faces. If you would like to come but would find coming on your own difficult, ring Mary on 655584 and she will arrange for someone to come with you.

The school is making a bid to Awards For All to improve the Wildlife Area to create an Outdoor Learning Environment. They would like to thank Wrawby Neighbourhood Watch, Friends of Wrawby School, Wrawby W.I and the Vale of Ancholme School, who have already given their support towards the bid. If there are any budding garden enthusiasts out there who would like to become involved, please contact Mrs Rowe at the school.
