Rubbish!

The first bin day of the year saw rubbish strewn around the village. Due to the high winds many bins had fallen open and spilled their contents.

Unfortunately the design of the bins means this is likely to happen unless they are full of heavy rubbish!

Please do what you can to help reduce this problem.

Flood Prevention

Funding has been obtained for the drainage/contracting work around the Village Hall which is intended to prevent future flooding problems. The work started on 9th January.

If anyone is aware of blocked gullies, drains, dykes etc which have, or are likely to cause flooding in the event of heavy rainfall the Council would like to know their location. Please advise your local parish Councillor or contact the Clerk to the Parish Council, Graham Foster, telephone 651250

Milk and Sugar?

The new facilities at St. Mary’s Church are being well used as the Church Council and members strive to make the building more accessible and available to the village.

The Church was full for the Brigg, Cadney and Wrawby Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve; earlier in the day it was standing room only as villagers and their families attended the Christingle Service. Over 90 children received Christingles and £250 was raised to support the work of the Children’s Society.

On the first Saturday of each month a growing number of people are enjoying coffee, cake and conversation when the church opens between 10.00 and 12.00. Members of the Methodist community are organising these popular coffee mornings.

On each Wednesday during Lent there’ll be a communion service, followed by a time for quiet reflection starting at 9.00 a.m., and there’s a regular pattern of Sunday services each month.

Pinched!

From February's news:
Lead has twice been stolen from the Church roof. New security measure have been put in place but please let the police know if you see any suspicious activity.
